Why not Cache Remotely ?

Caching is thought of as a L2 solution – keep the most frequently used data nearby to speed up read rates. This is good advice, but there are other ways.

It seems counter-intuitive, but a remote cache may be a better option.

Distance will make retrieval time worse obviously, but in this talk, Neil will show how this isn’t always a problem to obsess about, and how other benefits can outweigh it. He’ll show this in a polyglot environment, with a demo showing a few different languages sharing a cache out in the cloud, for mutual benefit.
